Director Information

A director is the person (or persons) legally authorized to manage and represent the company — distinct from a shareholder, who owns a stake in the company but does not necessarily manage it day to day. In many Qatar company structures, a shareholder can also serve as the director, but the two roles are recorded separately.

Director information usually includes:

  • Full legal name, nationality and identification documents
  • Appointment details, often confirmed through a shareholder resolution
  • Signing authority — what the director can approve or sign on the company’s behalf
  • Contact and residency information

Some jurisdictions, such as QFC, also ask about a company secretary or a Senior Executive Function holder where applicable, in addition to standard director details.

Being appointed as a director does not automatically grant work authorization if you are not already a Qatar resident — immigration and employment requirements for actively managing the company are assessed separately.
