Company Formation Document

Passport
A valid passport is the primary identity document required from every shareholder, director and authorized signatory when forming a company in Qatar. It is the starting point almost every licensing authority — MOCI, QFC, Qatar Free Zones, QSTP or Media City — uses to verify who is behind the company.
Typically, authorities will ask for:
- A clear colour copy of the passport’s bio-data page
- At least 6 months of remaining validity at the time of application
- A matching name spelling across all other submitted documents
If you are a corporate shareholder (a company owning shares rather than an individual), passports are usually still required for the ultimate individuals behind that corporate entity as part of Ultimate Beneficial Owner checks.
Passport copies alone are rarely enough to complete registration — they are combined with your Qatar ID (if you are a resident), proof of address and other shareholder/director documents depending on the authority you register with.
